Teeth Whitening
If you have stained or discolored teeth, but otherwise like your smile, a whitening procedure can give you the smile you've always wanted.
Dr. Bugaj uses the Zoom II Advanced Power® Whitening system at his Highland Park office.
The Zoom II Whitening procedure is simple and takes about 60 minutes from start to finish. First, a cleaning is done to ready your teeth for the actual Zoom II Whitening session. Dr. Bugaj covers your lips and gums with a protective gel and block-out materials. He then applies the proprietary Zoom teeth whitening liquid, which is activated by a specially designed light.
Whitening sessions are divided into three individual applications of the Zoom II teeth whitener, with the duration of each application being 15 minutes. Teeth typically become at least four to eight shades whiter. A five-minute fluoride treatment completes the procedure.
Whitening can also be continued and enhanced with take-home trays that are made of thin, clear flexible material. Each tray is custom-made to fit your mouth and teeth. Patients find these trays to be very comfortable to wear and sleep with. Along with custom whitening for the upper and lower teeth, your exclusive Zoom II take home whitening gel further whitens your teeth to allow you to achieve the whiteness you desire. Each kit includes whitening gel and a storage case for the dental trays.
Crown Lengthening to Improve Your SmileIn addition to giving you a bright smile, people who have smiles that show more “gum” than tooth may not have short teeth, but rather too much gum tissue covering their teeth. Dr. Bugaj can correct this though the use of diode laser technology. This procedure reshapes and removes excess gum tissue to expose more of your natural tooth. In most cases, the gum only needs to be shaped enough to match the amount of tooth being shown.
