Fillings

Are you self-conscious when you speak, smile, or laugh because you have a mouth full of silver or dark grey fillings? You are not alone.  For years, the only options for fillings were unsightly silver amalgams or acrylic fillings.

In the mid-80's, advances in dental technology developed an alternate option for amalgams -- white fillings.  White fillings, also known as porcelain or composite fillings are special fillings designed to match the natural color of your teeth.  Dr. Bugaj has extensive training and experience with these materials.

The obvious advantage of tooth-colored fillings is their appearance – after a cavity has been filled, it is often impossible to tell the tooth has a filling in it.  In addition, composite fillings contain no mercury.  Because the material is bonded to the tooth, the preparation of a cavity-filled tooth is less destructive than previous filling materials.

Composite fillings are an attractive and durable alternative to silver amalgams and give you a reason to smile.
